I’m very excited to have worked with Matt and Rogue Print Co on a new timed-edition shirt - BIGFOOT. PRE-ORDER HERE. From Matt: “Pre-order lasts for the weekend ending at Midnight UK time on WEDS the 19TH of October.
I aim to have all packages dropped off at the post office for them to begin processing orders 31ST of OCT - delays are always possible.”
So you’ve got until (does quick calculation)… uh, sometime on Wednesday the 19th of October to order one - like previous shirts with Matt, these won’t be reprinted and once they’re gone they’re gone. Unless I bring a few to a show one day.
Matt works with some of my favorite artists, and his shirts are always amazing - ethically printed by hand as well. Take a look around the rest of his shop for more great work.
I painted a variant cover for THAT TEXAS BLOOD #20 by Chris Condon and Jacob Phillips - out sometime before Christmas. They were both a joy to work with, and I loved working on this one (which translates to: I rewatched a lot of Sergio Leone and Sam Peckinpah films as “preparation”). I’d love to do more comic covers, so please get in touch if that means something to you.
THINGS I’VE BEEN ENJOYING:
David Milch’s memoir LIFE’S WORK. I’m having to read it slowly, and take a few days off at a time. It’s a rare book that makes you laugh and cry, pause and reflect. I’ve needed something to help me deal with the anger and sorrow and rage of the past few years, I’ve needed catharsis, and this book is giving it to me. It’s a gift, and I don’t want it, or David’s work, to end.
Lucy Sullivan’s SHELTER: EARLY DOORS. Lucy’s work is some of the most exciting and interesting I’ve seen in years. Her drawings are full of life and seem like her fingerprint - completely unique. She’s crowdfunding this book, and it looks like there are still ten days to contribute - check it out.
INKPULP INSTRUCTION - I’ve really been enjoying Shawn Crystal’s instructional videos, both on instagram and through his website. In my 20s I was heavily into martial arts, and training in Jeet Kune Do, and I remember reading that Dan Inosanto would watch martial arts instructional videos on fast forward while he ate his breakfast every day. There’s always something new to learn, always someone else who has something to offer you. There is no peak, only the long road. I watch Shawn’s videos as I do my warmup exercises for my arm/shoulder every day before I start working, and it’s been a nice way to start the day.
I hope you’re all well - take care of yourselves and each other.
Love,
-j
Thank you for your posts Jeffrey. I'm a fan of your art and always interested in your projects! But also appreciate hearing about what you're reading. The David Milch book is now on my list of "to reads".
